Groom & Bride

Danny

Danny is not just any hero; he's the kind of guy who, from 1968 to 1972, swapped the comfort of civilian life for the grit and grind of the U.S. Army. But Danny didn't just serve; he stood guard over the paradise of Key West, Florida, with the Army Air Defense Artillery unit. There, amidst the swaying palms and turquoise waters, serving with the HAWK Missile Control, ensuring the skies remained as clear as the Florida coast. A steadfast protector during his service, Danny exemplified the dedication and bravery that defined his time in the military, and continues to inspire those who know his story.

Ellie

Ellie, a true testament to resilience and grace, embarked on her life's journey with a diploma in hand from Brewster Vo Tech High School in Tampa, class of '67. Far from just a graduate, Ellie was a beacon of ambition and skill, harnessing the vocational education to carve her own path. Her journey from the hallowed halls of Brewster to becoming the cornerstone of the Layton family showcases her unwavering spirit and dedication. As the silent force behind the scenes, Ellie's story is one of perseverance, love, and the kind of strength that quietly underpins the very essence of a family's legacy.

When & Where

Wedding Ceremony

On April 3rd, 1974, Danny and Ellie took a vow of forever not in a grand hall, but in a place brimming with love and personal history—Danny's parent's house. The ceremony, intimate and deeply meaningful, was officiated by none other than Danny's mother, Evelyn, adding a layer of familial warmth to the already cozy affair. It was a day where two hearts were joined under the watchful and loving eyes of those who mattered most, marking the beginning of a lifelong journey together.

I met Ellie on the Creative Bag Making FB page and have become friends with her over a year or so. She has often told me about her relationship with Danny and I so admire that. She told me she and Danny still hold hands and kiss in public and have a great relationship, which all of us should aspire to. I wish them many more years of the bliss they seem to have and many more years for you to enjoy your parents.

Ellie and Dan,
Wishing you kids the best of 50 year and many, many more to come.  Dan, I have never met you but you’re a very luck man to have Ellie in your life.  She is talented, warm and especially a Funny Girl.  When I first met Ellie in person, in the parking lot of the Hard Rock in Tampa to bring her gifts, I knew I had a friend for life.  Wish we didn’t live so far away from each other we could create some nice products, but you do wonderful creations anyway.  Your on in a million Ellie and Dan you have a one in a million fabulous women there.  Cherish all the memories together for all eternity.  Love you Ellie and Dan,
Forever your friend, Linda Rea.

Congratulations on your 50th wedding anniversary! What a wonderful accomplishment and blessed event. We have fond memories of starting our own family and having the best neighbors just across the street. We loved living on River Rd and knowing you were there to chat, watch our kiddos play outside, share events of our daily lives and cherish fond memories.  We wish you many, many more years of good health, love and happiness.
Much love from The Larsons

Congratulations Danny and Ellie on your 50th anniversary!
My husband Richard and I met this lovely couple back in the ’80’s.  I’m so happy for you both on this milestone anniversary! May you have many more years together.
Blessings to you and your family.

I actually didn’t get to meet Ellie and Danny until I was into my 40’s. Well worth the wait! My mom and Ellie are first cousins. Her dad and my grandmother were siblings. We were all spread out across the country, but we’ve made up for some lost time, now that we moved to Florida.

I have enjoyed getting to know this beautiful cousin of mine over the last decade and look forward to developing that friendship. We’re family.

Many blessings on your 50th anniversary with Danny! 50 years is quite an accomplishment!

Love, hugs and congratulations from the Millinors 💕!
